Baking Goodies

Caterpillar Girl made cookies to give to Santa Claus and the family. We used cookie cutters that Mommy received from Gran and Granddad for her birthday.

First, Caterpillar Girl cuts them out.

Then she dusts them with sprinkles and colorful sugar.

Gymnastics with Ahpa

Mommy can’t drive so Ahpa took Caterpillar Girl to her gymnastics class. It has been a long time since we took pictures at gymnastics class.

Ahpa took helped her on the rings. She only holds on for mere seconds.

She can walk on the low beam by herself but she needs help for the higher balance beam.

The trampoline is so exciting and offers Ahpa a chance to rest. Plus when Caterpillar Girl jumps off the end, she lands in a foam pit!

After some free play, they sing songs and stretch during circle time.

At the end, the parents and kids come back together for parachute time. The beginning of parachute time is signaled by the teacher blowing bubbles. Like moths to a flame, once the toddlers see the bubbles, they screech “BUBBLES” and run over to catch and pop them.

Stickers are usually given out to conclude the class, but since it was the class before the Christmas break, Erin received a candy cane.

Decorating the Tree

Aunt Carole and Uncle Chuck gave us a large Christmas tree last year, so this is the first time it went up. Since Mommy’s ankle was broken, Daddy and Caterpillar Girl did the work.

Mommy’s Birthday

cake

Aunt DiDi came into town a few days early and helped Ahma make a delicious birthday dinner.

Then we headed to the Suwannee River to stay in a cabin at the Stephen Foster Cultural Center. It was a great cabin with a fireplace and a bunk bed.

fire

Caterpillar Girl climbed the ladder to the top bunk all by herself. How fun!

The fire was warm and cozy on a night so cold that there were icicles the next morning.

icicles

Caterpillar Girl got bundled up to play on the playground and relax on the café porch with Daddy.

Later we hiked along the Suwannee River, which was very low. Not much rain this season.

Unfortunately, the hike ended in tragedy when Mommy fell and broke my ankle.
